Preconference workshop
Professor David Hodgins from the department of Clinical Psychology, University of Calgary in Canada will give an interesting workshop on treatment issues where he will focus on the role of motivational interviewing in treatment for problem gamblers. Dr. Hodgins is well-known for his development of a brief treatment for gambling problems that is based on a motivational enhancement model. In fact his treatment model has been classified as a promising treatment for problem gambling by the United States Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration. In 2010, David also received the Scientific Achievement Award from the US National Center for Responsible Gaming.
