Guidelines for paper chairs
Chair of a paper session presents authors and the titles of their presentations, facilitates discussions and questions after each presentation and keeps track of the time during session and signals presenters when they reach their time limit.
Each presenter will have 10 to 12 minutes for his presentation, leaving additional 3 minutes for questions and discussions after the presentation.
It is very important that presenters respect the given time limit because the program of the congress runes on a tight time schedule.
Please let presenters know of the remaining time after 10 minutes and signal them again when the time is up. Less time will be left for discussions/questions if presenters go over their time limit. No presentation should be allowed to exceed 13 minutes.
The Chair, as well as presenters should arrive at the location of the session 15 minutes before the scheduled beginning of their session. Presenters are instructed to bring their presentation on a USB drive so it can easily be uploaded to the congress computer. An assistant will help with this and will also be available during the session.
Please note that most paper sessions are off-site. Familiarize yourself with the map provided with your congress materials. The off-site venues are within a 15 minute walking distance from the congress site. Assistants are on hand to give directions.
