Kristina Berg Kelly, MD; PhD, specialist in Pediatrics, and Associate Professor at the Göteborg University since 1972. Trained adolescent medicine in San Fransicso in 1981-82. Medical director (Verksamhetschef) of Pediatrics at the Queen Silvia Children´s hospital in Göteborg during 1998-2002. Her clinical work has mostly been with young people with chronic conditions and seeing referred young people with complicated social, psychological and physical problems
Now retired but continues as a mentor of research projects and with teaching in Sweden and internationally on behalf of WHO; UNFPA and different NGO`s . Member of the Euteach network for promoting specialist training in adolescent medicine, go to

In 1987 the Swedish Adolescent Medicine Association was formed, and she remained chairman for over 10 years
Her research is in epidemiology regarding adolescent healthy and unhealthy behaviour and their determinants in young people in general and specifically in young people with chronic conditions. She received the award of Outstanding Achievement in Adolescent Medicine in 2002 in Boston from the Society for Adolescent Medicine
